spring themed zine 🌼 (free printable download)
Local spring plants and flowers to look out for, a required reading list, recipe for rhubarb jam, spring cleaning refresh for the mind, body, and soul — and a whole lot of green <3

I love to align my life with the seasons, and lately, I’ve been so inspired by spring. The budding willows glow in the lingering sun, their weepy branches cascading in soft yellow/green light. The view fills me with a lightness that seems to arrive alongside the blooming colours of April. We don’t have trees like this back where I’m from — it’s spring and I’m in BC now, not Saskatchewan — and it all feels wonderfully new.
Back in March, I set a goal for myself: to create something from start to finish that I could physically hold in my hands. While working at the library, I had the chance to design a simple booklet (or zine!) for a local art gallery/library program — and I absolutely loved the process. That little spark of inspiration quickly turned into this very project.
After evenings spent doodling in Procreate and mocking up real-life prints, I’m thrilled to share my very first Down to Earth zine with you all. I’m so excited!
What is a zine, you ask? Put simply, it’s a mini booklet — created using one or more sheets of paper. They’re fun to make, easy to assemble, and such a lovely, tangible way to interact with an artist’s or writer’s work.
So grab your coffee, print out the pages below, and enjoy this spring-themed zine.
More to come in the future (imagine reading a summertime zine around a campfire on your camping trip or cozying up under a blanket with something to read slowly in autumn — dreamy, right?).

But — here’s one to enjoy right now, in spring.
So grab a cup of coffee or tea, save this for when you have a 15-20 minute chunk of time — like a slow Sunday morning — and enjoy, (slowly).
